There’s still time to nominate your Stortford Hero

May 06, 2022 • 3 min read

Have you nominated your local hero for a Stortford Heroes award yet? Now is the chance to give thanks to the people who go above and beyond to support our community, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. Maybe they’re NHS workers, emergency services, caregivers, charitable organisations or just everyday individuals who dedicate their time and resources to helping others.

Shortlisted heroes will be invited along to Stortford Heroes: Party in the Park as special guests for a day of celebration with live entertainment and free hospitality. Party in the Park is a free community event, organised by local businesses, to recognise and celebrate the unsung heroes of Bishop’s Stortford.

CEO of ITVET Ltd, Daryl Fuller, said: “The highlight of this event is learning about how incredible our community is thanks to people’s kindness and generosity. Kind and caring people have truly supported us throughout the pandemic, and they often go unnoticed. Party in the Park is guaranteed to be an amazing day where we can say thank you to them.”

There are five amazing awards categories, sponsored by local businesses:

  • Unsung community hero
  • Volunteer hero
  • Keyworker hero
  • Caring hands hero
  • Hero organisation

It’s easy to nominate someone. Simply, visit the Stortford Heroes website and fill out the nomination form. A panel of judges will review all the nominations and create a shortlist for the awards. The shortlist will then receive a special invitation to Party in the Park where the awards ceremony will take place.

Stortford Heroes: Party in the Park takes place on Saturday 16th July at Sworder’s Field, Bishop’s Stortford.  The line-up includes The Brand New Heavies, The Hoosiers, Simon Brodkin, and BBC Introducing.
